HVAC Service Tech

Experience/Certifications Required:

Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.

• 4 + years’ experience as a service technician working on commercial and Industrial HVAC equipment.
• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in an HVAC program. (or equal training and certification)
• 10 hour OSHA card or attain one in the first 30 days of employment.
• NH Gas Service Technicians License.
• EPA Certification
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Work Environment: Noise, dust, welding flash, temperature variations and difficult-to access areas are a part of some job sites. Many times you will he working in an occupied office, manufacturing, educational or hospital environment. When necessary, protective gear is required.

Key Duties:
• Diagnose the causes of problems and or failures in commercial heating/air conditioning systems.
• Inspect HVAC systems and their components to evaluate condition and identify necessary repairs and recommend preventative maintenance.
• Be a part of the on-call rotation.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
– Follow and accurately complete check lists.
– Provide recommendations for ongoing preventative maintenance.
– Identify unsafe and recommended repairs.
• Establish and maintain a positive relationship with client.
– Build client confidence in company.
– Maintain a clean and organized appearance. This includes personal appearance and hygiene, company vehicles, tools and equipment.
– Make sure the site is cleaner when you leave than when you arrived.
– Have respect for the customer’s site and work environment.

Warehouse Manager

This position provides help and support along with hands-on operational management of warehouse operations at Eckhardt & Johnson, ensuring proper receiving, storing, and distribution of materials and equipment. Critical responsibilities include effective communication with Project Managers/Crew Leaders, maintaining inventory organization, tracking tools, and supervising 1-2 warehouse employees while ensuring timely delivery of correct materials and tools to job sites.

Experience/Certifications Required:

  • NH Driver’s License
  • D.O.T. Medical Card (we can help obtain)
  • Fork Truck and Lull License (we can help obtain)
  • Basic Computer Knowledge
  • 2-4 years’ experience working in a Warehouse
  • Basic Knowledge of Plumbing & HVAC parts and fittings

Work Environment: Typical warehouse, shop and yard environment, frequent bending, reaching, and lifting 30-100lbs.
Work Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Key Duties:

  • Receive and unload daily material and equipment deliveries, either by hand or with a fork truck
    • Check in deliveries to make sure they are correct and there is no damage
    • Label and organize deliveries so they are tagged for the proper project
    • Receive items in our computer system and run a back-order report
    • Notify the appropriate Project Manager when materials are received for their projects
  • Organize and maintain appropriate shop stock/inventory
    • Inventory should be organized and clearly marked
    • Excess or non-stock items should be returned for credit
    • Perform inventory cycle counts for stock items
  • Receive and pull daily job orders from our inventory and organize on the appropriate job shelf
    • Pull materials lists turned in or called in by field Crew Leader
    • Box and organize materials on the appropriate job shelf
    • Issue PO’s for items we do not have in stock and schedule pick up or delivery
    • Communicate long lead
    • Run back-order reports and make sure job sites get the materials they need
    • Make decisions to cancel back-orders and get materials from another vendor
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop/warehouse and yard
    • Ensure job shelves are appropriately marked
    • Label all material with correct job information and store properly
    • Maintain yard and building grounds including but not limited to landscaping and snow removal
  • Maintain an organized tool crib and tool log
    • Log in and out all tools in our “Tool Watch” computer program
    • Run monthly tools reports by project and vehicle to maintain an updated and accurate tool log; then reconcile and follow up on any discrepancies
    • Make sure all tools are well-maintained and in safe and working condition
    • Fill tool request called in by the field Crew Leader – if the tool is not available in the shop this will require locating the required tool from another project or truck
  • Pick up tools and unused materials at job sites and return to the shop
    • Coordinate job cleanouts with Crew Leader
    • Process returned material for credit to inventory or with suppliers
  • Manage and maintain E&J uniforms
    • Maintain inventory and order as needed
    • Issue uniforms to new employees as directed by HR
    • Issue replacement uniforms as per uniform policy

Exempt or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Experience/Certifications Required:

  • NH Apprentice Plumbing License within 60 days of employment
  • Enrolled and actively completing an approved plumbing classroom program (fully paid for by us)
  • 10-hour OSHA card (we provide free training to obtain this)
  • NH Gas Trainee license within 60 days of employment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • We are willing to train those with no experience

Tools:

  • Must have all tools listed on the E&J required tool list

  • Responsible for learning plumbing & mechanical installations and making sure that you have the information and materials you need to perform your duties efficiently and correctly.
    • ALL installations are per the project plans and specifications
    • ALL installations are per the state & local codes (Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code, Gas Code, ADA, Energy Code)
    • ALL installations are per submittals & manufacturer’s installation instructions
    • ALL installations meet E&J standard of quality
    • Any questions, concerns or discrepancies must be brought to the project crew leader’s attention
  • Making sure you request equipment, materials and tools before you need them.
    • Making sure daily materials and tool requests are given to your crew leader by noon time
    • Making sure you are planning and looking ahead and your materials and tool request are 2 days ahead of when you need them
    • It is your responsibility to help make sure tools, materials and equipment are on site when needed
    • Making sure materials in the trailer and on the job site are organized
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with co-workers, clients and on-site contractors/subcontractors
  • Follow all industry, state, job/client specific and OSHA safety standards
  • Ensure maintenance and security of project documents, equipment, tools and materials.
    • Help maintain an accurate list of tools assigned to the project
    • Take responsibility for using tools and equipment correctly and making sure they are organized and locked up at the end of the day
  • Maintain an accurate record of your time and ensure you sign your timecard each week and verify information is correct

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, stooping, climbing or walking ladders, stairs and other inclined surfaces and at significant heights. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as balancing, working overhead and crawling into awkward spaces. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.

  • 1+ year experience in the field working on commercial HVAC Projects

  • Complete and pass 3rd party administered ASME Section IX 6G welding test (welders only)
  • Ability to read and understand Blueprints and specifications

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of the following codes
